Parents not receiving child support unite against deadbeat parents.
My Story!
2005
- April 29, 2005 My son was born 3 months premature. My ex quit his job within a week.
-July 25, 2005 My son came home from the hospital with a feeding tube and heart monitor. My sister had to learn how to use the devices with me. there has to be atleast two people to use them to bring the baby home. My ex refused. He also got a job that would relocate him to Georgia for 2 months.
-September 2005 My son starts physical and feeding therapy 2 times a week. My ex never came to a single session. He would rather sleep. He also kept quitting jobs and gambling.
-May 2005 My ex wrecked my car! He took it out around midnight and hit a pedestrian. His mother paid to fix my car on her credit card.
-June 2006 We finally left him.
-November 2006 we signed a Marital settlement. Child support was ordered plus arrears! My ex would not receive overnights.
- January 2007 I filed a a case for bad checks-Nov, and December's child support checks were all returned insufficient funds.
- June 2007 the divorce is final. Child support is being paid spuratically.
- September 2007 A parent conference is set- He wants overnight visitation. Like I would agree to that. I am ordered to go to a parent coordinator. He drove there with expired tags. I questioned his driving record. His lawyer yelled at me.
-April 2008 I find out he has been a convicted felon since August of last year! I talk to his probation officer days before he takes my son for visitation out of the State of Florida. The probation officer refuses to yank his traveling papers. The state of Florida does not require a parent to tell the other parent that they have been convicted of a crime. I begin writing letters and working on getting a Bill passed to make it a law that they tell me.
- May 2008 Income deduction is finally taken into affect.
- July 2008 after 3 payments it stops. My ex got fired! I have not received a payment since.
- August 8,2008 I file to have his driver License suspended.
- August11 2008 he files saying we are in litigation and trying to agree on support! We are ordered to mediation and His DL is not suspended.
- September 2008 I change my case to the State Disbursement unit. 3 days later he get issued his first warning. I had a few senators work on this project.
-October 2008 My ex buys a new car ( brand new altima)and I find out he is on Food stamps! I reported him for food stamp fraud.
-November 2008 My ex moves into a new apartment $900 a month rent! The final notice that his Driver license will be suspended on Dec 3

- Yes, they gave me his file. His arrest and probation are public record. He owes child support. That is a condition of probation to take care of your financial responsibilities. Look up his record and find out who is handling his probation. Call them and they should tell you who his probation officer is. The best way to get a quick response is to email the head of the probation department along with the probation officer you are trying to get a hold of. This will start to create a paper trail. T

Comment by Tarah on November 8, 2008 at 11:43am - Your case sounds simlilar to mine. I say this because your son's father and mine are both on probation. Both come across as immature and trying to avoid paying for child support. How did you get in contact with his probation officer? Did the probation officer give you details about this guy..and is that something they can do? I'm in Florida also.
