My court date was continued for February 2010. I called the courts and told them I desperately needed my child support. I talked to the attorney representing me on behalf of the state and begged her to help me. It seems you have to be the squeaky wheel to get anywhere in this game. It paid off, they moved my court date up to December 7th. Don't give up folks...keep making those phone calls....writing those letters and sending emails. It is all for the kids!
My court date is approaching fast. I have called my caseworker numerous time to ask questions....only to never receive a return call. I will try to call the courthouse today and see if I can get my questions answered...Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring "evidence" into the court room for child support court? I have emails and postings on social network sites as well as photos that would be helpful in my case...Just wondering if any of you have been to court before in the same situation.
Or I get a message that "the computers are down for the rest of the week" or "our phones are down today"...I called over 50 times in one day and called several extensions...never got an answer.
I'm glad to hear that. Too bad it is such a rat race to find out any information regarding your case. 95% of the time when I call CSE, I receive a busy signal.
I called the COURT today where my child support case was filed. I have given up on my local child support enforcement agency. I gave the court clerk my case number and she looked it up on the computer. My ex WAS SERVED on July 8th. FINALLY!
Tarah, Please let us know how it works. I bet CSE would be glad if you hired a process server that would save them $ and you are probably right if you hired the process server they would try a lot more than a court appointed one. Court appointed ones probably get a flat agreed upon rate. Hopefully they work harder than some of these case workers! Your new profile picture is making me miss Fort Lauderdale!
