Down with Deadbeats

Parents not receiving child support unite against deadbeat parents.

Just wanted to know if anyone has gone to a lawyer. I would say it's the most costly and most effective and if so what was the result time......I would imagine guys still avoid the process ....and in my case the guy's family will cover for their son at ALL costs. It frustrates me to no one. And if they read this ...they could care less. =(

wow, that sucks. lol It makes a lot of sense though cause I would amazine a lawyer would much rather go after a case where a lot of money is involved instead of some dinky amount which is more then often the case in with child support is involved. thanks so much for the response...much appreciated ~.~
There needs to really be more laws involved in our favor then so men/women don't get away without paying child support because in the end it really is child neglect but the crime often goes unnoticed or brushed aside and we deal with everything in stride meanwhile the other person goes on like nothing happened.

Yes
- 1st had so many personal issues that little was accomplished despite 160 an hour fees. He failed to serve. The second was more $$ I was scared to talk cause they charge by the minute
the other firm found an approach to get closer to my objective- I am not using them for support but to assure I can secure employment in places that the other parent voiced concern about despite no providing resources to mitigate financial concerns. The lower your income the easier it is to access economical avenues to address concerns. I was not that low.. so big ouchie.

Is this interstate? there are a number of advocacy group that might help . The courts may have eager beaver neophyte law students to consult for those who indicate they can not afford a lawyer and women support groups.

Thanks for the info =) When you say interstate...do you mean if the case is in 2 states?

My lawyer fees are $250 an hour!

$250 an hour?
Does any of this fall back on your Ex to pay you back? Of course that sounds like a contradiciton since he can't even pay the support due to your child. I hope the charges at least go into his arrears.

Yes, he has a judement to pay $1500 of the first mediation proceedings. He is in contempt. I would have to pay my lawyer to take him to court to ge that money. It is ridiculaous.

Did you get the bid for the lunch with the senator? Someone has to hear this.

I hope your visit with your dad is great. You guys are just starting basketball and we're just getting our track reprieve :) and planning on tennis again!

Miss you,

Tammy

265 But I now have full legal custody though he is entitled to reasonable rights of visitation as of April 29.
the judge presumed the other state was addressing the child support issue. I went back to my case worker and asked him to inform the the judge I was working through their system. Because he was more than 50 K in arrears, the judge noted it was influential in the courtroom; this jurisdiction gives a lot of slack to the other parent. I have been pressing the case worker to be accountable. and make it a federal case ; It in an interstate case, he has been demonstrably evasive and he is in arrears more than 5K makes it a Federal case , a felony and conviction. The dude twitters and leaves footprints of some of his activities which are not cheap. I willnot find out for another month if my employment situation will change at which point I will be leaving the country to have more control financially over the situation. Mind you the dud is starting up his talk show where he espouses virtuous righteous behaviour retch! A simply letter might be sufficient if there were on it. Maintaining the zone of not letting it eat at me is an art not a skill.

(even though there's NOTHING wrong w/him)!on top of that he's supposed 2 have her 3 sat./mo. & i have 2 provide the transportation,pick-up & drop off!!!all this $$$$ i spent & once again,the courts have STILL let me down!!

OMG..$20 a week is a joke. Even if you got that..it doesn't make an impact for your daughter. I can't believe this guy doesn't pay such a small amount. I think when a guy is in this situation they seek other people that are in the same situation...and they share information on how to work the system. I've had family members tell me go after child support is a waste of time...and they were referring to 500 to 600 a month..I'm giving that as an example. But I think it's always better to a least try and don't let all of this run your life.

It is like these parents who don't pay their child support would rather jump from job to job and never have anything in their name. All just to avoid taking care of their children. I know when I receive the occasional payment from my daughter's father (about once a year, it's been 2 years this time) it is only because the system finally caught up with his employer. Then he immediately leaves the job. I can't imagine living like that.
$20 a week? That is a slap in the face. I hope for your sake he does get SSDI so that the payments go up.
