Down with Deadbeats

Parents not receiving child support unite against deadbeat parents.

The date for Children's Week 2010 is April 12-17th
I really want to make an impact this year. I would like for us to come up with 3 major issues that we want to tackle to get the support system back on track. Then for one day that week several of us go to our state reps in person and request they help us make these law in the state of Florida. For example I will go with my three counties Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough. I would make appointments to see the senators and state reps. There would be 2 or 3 of us at each one of these meetings. Lets say just 3 of us go and we end up talking to 9 counties that is 9 more chances than we had before of getting a bill passed to help us out. Anyone else game. Yes, this would mean we would be at the State Capitol.

My main issue of course is that I believe anyone is arrested and is on probationin the state of Florida that the othe other parent be notified and that the probation officer contacts the florida state disbursement unit. This way when they get a job because they are on probation we will get our CS money.

I am going to put it on my calendar now. I will definetly go next year and am sorry I missed this years.
I agree with your main issue. Of course for the support money and because parents have the right to know if the other parent is arrested and what the charges are.
I think my main issue would be the issuing of warrants for non payment. There should be one standard amount of deliquency and then a warrant should be issued with or without a verifiable address for the non custodial parent.
I am looking forward to children's week and will research info on our issues. Hope your vacation was great!

Thanks :)
