Down with Deadbeats

Parents not receiving child support unite against deadbeat parents.

Last month I took the drastic step of airing my family's dirty laundry, so to speak, on the web for the world to see in the form of a website dedicated to my child support case and finding my children's deadbeat father.  My hopes are that the right person somewhere somehow will see it and report the tip that is needed to find one of Rhode Island's biggest deadbeat dads.  I invite you to view my website at http://www.stephenswallow.com to read more about my child support case.

After spending 11 years waiting for the RI office of child support enforcement to do their jobs I am no better off than I was when this whole mess started 11 years ago in 1999 and the current amount of child support owed to me and my four children has amassed to $172, 224!  You would think that with the facts of the case, the amount owed and the time that has elapsed that my case would have gotten the attention of my state's attorney general for prosecution on the Child Support Recovery Act http://www.justice.gov/ag/readingroom/childspt2.htm but, alas, this has not been the case and no amount of being the squeaky wheel is doing the trick.  I have written to my state's governor multiple times and have received no response, I have written to the supervisor of my child support case worker even going as far as to site the specific elements of the Child Support Recovery Act and spelling out how my case meets those elements, again with no response and I have even gone as far as to try to draw attention to my case by contacting local journalists for my state's most read daily newspaper.  I have posted my case information on every single deadbeat website I can get find and even went as far as to set up a Google Ad-words campaign so that my website will show up in the sponsored area of searches for child support ect.  I list a link to my website on Craigslist somewhere in the country on a daily basis and so far that alone has brought thousands of hits to my website and tons of hate mail from people who love to play the "blame the victim" game and tell me I should have kept my legs closed, that it is my ex's perogative to decide whether or not to support his kids and if he decided he isn't going to that too damn bad for you, that I'm nothing but a vindictive bitch ect ect.    Funny how all those hate mails are from men, but I digress.

I've done quit a bit of research into this subject and I am pretty knowledgeable on child support laws and interstate cases.  Not that any of that knowledge has helped bring a resolution to my case but I am certainly not taking this laying down anymore.

I think unless there are more aggressive mechanisms -the future requires prayer to be hopeful

This is even more proof that the way child support enforcement is handled needs a major overhaul. We all need to work together to make changes happen. Don't give up your fight! I'm not!
